Screening guide + Alpine preparation checklist • Adults 18+
Understand the PCL-5 and prepare to review trauma symptoms with a qualified clinician.
This is a self-reflection, not a validated screening test. It has no diagnostic score and cannot decide which treatment you need.
The PCL-5 asks about PTSD symptoms and can help clinicians follow changes over time. Different versions assess different timeframes or include trauma-exposure information. The VA advises that a clinician interpret the results; a total alone cannot confirm PTSD.
