The Alpine Recovery Lodge Bi-Annual $1,000 Scholarship Essay Contest

At Alpine Recovery Lodge, we believe it’s our responsibility to give back to the community and help those looking to better themselves through an education, specifically students who have been directly affected by addiction.

Over the past few decades, the rising cost of college tuition has far outpaced the rate of inflation. Higher education is more expensive than ever before. According to the College Board, the average cost of a year of tuition and fees at a public four-year in-state university is over $9,000. This figure doesn’t include high-priced textbooks, computers, graphing calculators, and other expensive materials that are often required to complete courses.

Twice a year, we award $1,000 to students in need to help them receive the education they deserve. High school seniors, undergrads, and graduate students are welcome to apply. Applicant must be a resident of Utah, Colorado, Idaho, Wyoming, New Mexico, Arizona or Nevada.  To apply, please submit an essay detailing how addiction has directly affected you. A winner will be chosen based on strength of essay and financial need.

Applicants must abide by the following deadlines:

  • Summer Deadline – July 1st
  • Winter Deadline – November 1th

Include your full name, physical address, email address, phone number, and proof that you are currently enrolled in high school or college (recent transcript, etc.) along with your essay.

Please email your essay and supporting documents to scholarships@alpinerecoverylodge.com, or send a physical copy to:
